School for both of us

I saw that my sister-in-law has started a blog, and it inspired me. I have been wanting to do it for some time. Jadon is ucrrently in school 3 days a week at The Goddard School. Today is Halloween, and they are having a party for the kids. Jadon is going to be Elmo! He loves Elmo. I've come to terms with the fact that my son's life revolves around a TV charcter. Well, not really... but a mom needs a break.

Currently, I am taking 6 classes at GA State. Yikes! I love school and find sociology very fulfilling. My class on race and ethnicity is very thought provoking and challenges me in the way that I view others in my daily interactions. I find it interesting that as a white woman race is not something that I think about daily, but for minorities it is. Growing up in a culture that teaches you not to talk about race, it challenges me to try and be race conscious. The only way to end racism will be to confront it. Hopefully, my generation will be bold and stand up for racial inequality.

Birthday fun!

These are from Jadon's Birthday Party at Chuck E. Cheese! The little boy is Henri, and he is Jadon's best friend. His blonde locks are gorgeous! Jadon had so much fun playing with all the games. He didn't want to give up his "money" to the machines though. The tokens were far more valuable to him then riding a plastic fire truck. I guess I don't blame him!
Holly is my closest mom friend. We met at the mall when Henri and Jadon were babies. We were both carrying our babies in slings and attended La Leche League. We became instant buddies!
